The Telegraph interviewed small and medium business owners about work-based sexism. With women in management positions at more than two million SMEs, it’s surprising that gender equality at work is still an issue. And yet a recent survey by Workingmums claims that 26% of mothers in work have had flexible working requests turned down, putting a strain on their work-life balance.
The article explores what five different SMEs are doing to tackle these issues in their workspaces. Our director Monica went into detail about Curated’s structure, and how there are more opportunities in a small organisation such as this for women to stand out and build their career. Employees are also more likely to confront and address issues like the gender pay gap.
